
Introduction to Theory of Music – Initial Level – Grade 1
This beginner-level course unravels the fundamentals of music theory, including: rhythm, pitch, scales, key signatures, basic harmony, and performance directions. This course is suitable for complete beginners, it prepares students for Grade 1 theory exams.
Learning to read and write music is an important skill for aspiring composers and those who will play with others whether in an orchestra, ensemble or duet. Our aim is to thoroughly prepare the learner for the examination making sure that a good pass is attained.
Some exercises and assignments require writing out answers by hand while others can be done using the free music editor.
Quizzes are offered at the end of each section. Simulation examinations are offered at the end of each major section.
